You can get both when you use the services of a personal trainer or sign up for a boot camp, which is often what group training is called when it’s led by a personal trainer. You’ll get results faster for a number of reasons.
TRAINERS FIRST ASSESS YOUR FITNESS LEVEL.
Before you start in any type of program, whether it’s private or group training, a trainer has to assess your overall fitness, find out your goals and learn of any specific needs. By doing that, the trainer can create a program that’s especially for you. It will work you to your maximum capacity, but you’ll also see fantastic results that will give you a jump start on your goals.
YOU'LL NEVER FEEL LEFT BEHIND OR BORED IN A GROUP EITHER.
Don’t be intimidated by group training, it’s extremely affordable and lots of fun. Everyone in your group will be at different levels of fitness, but don’t worry. Even though the whole group will workout together, each person will have a different goal to reach that will vary in intensity, number of repetitions and sometimes even in form. You’ll all be working toward your maximum potential.
YOU'RE MORE APT TO STICK WITH THE PROGRAM BECAUSE YOU'RE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
It’s just human nature to cut corners when you’re working out on your own. You don’t have to answer to anyone or meet with anyone for your workout, so you skip it one day. The next week, it’s easier to skip it two days. Before you know it, your workout program is just a memory and you lost any progress you made. Meeting with a group or for private sessions with a trainer is an appointment you’re more likely to keep. The group and the trainer will know when you missed. You have accountability.
You can get short term workout programs for a jump-start, but you’ll probably find you enjoy group training so much, you’ll end up signing up for more.
A good trainer, whether in group or private sessions, will vary the program. That helps prevent plateauing and keeps the workout fresh and more fun.
You’ll work hard but that hard work will reap results. Results are the BIGGEST motivator to continue the program.
You’ll learn how to do each exercise correctly. Not only does the trainer show you how to do the exercise, the trainer also watches as you do it to insure you have the proper form. Doing an exercise incorrectly can diminish the results and may even cause injury.
